We partnered with The Council of the Baltic Sea States to deliver digital solutions that support international cooperation, improve user experience, and strengthen institutional communication across the Baltic Sea region.
Throughout our collaboration, we designed and developed a range of digital products, including mobile applications, public-facing platforms, and specialized services supporting cross-border initiatives. By combining user-centered design with robust technology, we helped transform complex institutional processes into accessible and engaging digital experiences.

CBSS AS A CLIENT
The Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) is an intergovernmental political forum for regional cooperation among countries in the Baltic Sea region and the European Union. Founded in 1992, the organization leads strategic initiatives across areas such as regional security, democracy and governance, sustainability, youth engagement, civil protection, anti-trafficking efforts, and digital resilience.
Coordinating cross-border programs and collaboration between governments, institutions, experts, and international stakeholders requires clear communication, operational reliability, and scalable digital infrastructure.

CHALLENGE
Creating Digital Solutions for Complex International Stakeholders
Given the complexity of coordinating international programs and communications, the project focused on creating a reliable and scalable digital platform that could serve diverse audiences across the Baltic Sea region. Key objectives included improving accessibility and user experience, simplifying content management, supporting multilingual communication, and establishing a flexible foundation for future development.
SCOPE OF WORK
Strategic UX, Scalable Development & Institutional-Grade Reliability
Working closely with CBSS stakeholders, we aligned organizational workflows, user needs, and communication goals to create a digital experience that enhances accessibility, stakeholder engagement, and operational efficiency.

Strategy & Research
Validated concepts through user testing and research, helping identify the most effective and child-friendly approach for the final solution.

UX & UI Design
Designed accessible user experiences and immersive digital journeys in Figma, including the 3D tour experience built to support engagement & clarity.

Development & CMS optimization
Developed a scalable ecosystem comprising a Flutter mobile application, Next.js web dashboard, and robust Node.js backend infrastructure.

Accessibility & Performance
We enhanced accessibility, responsiveness, and overall platform performance to ensure a seamless experience for all users.
TWO PROJECTS, ONE PARTNERSHIP
During the collaboration, two separate digital products were designed — the Barnahus website and the Journeys mobile application — each with its own goals, audience, and design challenges.
Journeys App
BARNAHUS WEBSITE
Protecting Europe's Children
A complete redesign of the Barnahus website, focused on improving accessibility, content structure, and user engagement. The platform helps communicate the Barnahus model and its mission to protect and support children affected by violence and abuse across Europe.

JOURNEYS APP
3D Safe Room Tour
A child-friendly digital platform designed to guide children through the Barnahus process. The solution combined a mobile application, administrative tools, and an immersive 3D environment to help young users better understand what to expect during their journey toward protection, recovery, and justice.

RESULTS & IMPACT
Through multiple initiatives, we helped CBSS modernize its digital presence and enhance the way information and services are delivered across diverse audiences. The solutions improved usability, streamlined content management, supported multilingual communication, and established a scalable foundation for future programs and digital innovation.
I had one point of contact who was super tuned into all the details of the project and led the whole thing from beginning to end with professionalism and efficiency.
